Establishment:
The APC Pome, Citrus and Stone Fruit Producers’ Committee, was established in 1994 to provide funding to the Western Australian fruit industry through fee for service on fruit sales and replaced the levy previously collected under the WA Fruit Industry Trust Fund Act. The Committee covers all Western Australian producers of apples, pears, nashi, citrus and stone fruits including cherries.

Committee Membership:
Numbering 9 members, the Committee is the Commission’s largest, representing all the main fruit producing areas.

Functions: 
The Committee was established to provide all service functions that are listed in Section 12.1 (a to m, including la) of the Agricultural Produce Commission Act

Fee for Service:

Pome Fruits - Apples, Pears and Nashi

as from 1 January 2005
Apples, pears and nashi fruit    In containers/bins      $0.0067 per kilogram
as from 1 July 2008
Apples, pears and nashi fruit    Processing                 $0.0050 per kilogram

Citrus – Oranges, Lemons, Mandarins, Grapefruit, other citrus

as from 1 October 2004

Citrus – Mandarins                     In containers              $0.0130 per kilogram

Citrus – Other                              In containers              $0.0100 per kilogram

Citrus - Processing                                                          $0.0100 per kilogram

 

Stone Fruit - Apricots, Cherries, Loquats, Nectarines, Peaches & Plums

as from 1 August 2002
Stone Fruit Fee for Service converted to kilogram = $0.0090 per kilogram.

Trays @ 3 cents per tray, 22 litre ctn @ 9 cents per ctn, Bins (plums) $3.17 per bin, Processing (plums) @ $6.00 per tonne.

Compliance

The collection of fee for service for the WA pome, citrus and stone fruit industries is regulated by the Agricultural Produce (Horticultural Industry) Regulations 2001.

 Committee Activity:

Expenditure of fee for service funds includes; promotion and marketing, research and pest monitoring. A review of Committee activities and the financial statements is located in the APC Annual Report.
