Establishment:

The APC Carrot Producers’ Committee was established in 1994. The Committee covers all Western Australian carrot producers.

Committee Membership:

The Committee consists of 5 members from the main carrot growing areas.

Functions:

The services that are provided by the Committee cover service functions listed as (a) to (e), (l) and (m) in Section 12.1 of the Act.

Fee for Service:

The carrot industry fee for service has been suspended in 1997, this was in response to the introduction of Ausveg National Vegetable levy. The fee for service will re-commence should the need arise for additional local industry funding.

Compliance:

The collection of the WA Carrot industry fee for service is regulated by the Agricultural Produce (Horticultural Industry) Regulations 2001.

Committee Activity:

Before fee for service collection was suspended expenditure of fee for service funds were mainly intended for research into carrot variety testing and promotion. The report on current Committee activity and the financial statements can be found in the APC Annual Report.
