APC PORK PRODUCERS’ COMMITTEE Establishment: The APC Pork Producers’ Committee was established to provide Fee for Service funding for the WA pork industry after a successful poll which was held on 12 December 2001. The Committee covers all Western Australian pork producers. Committee Membership: The Committee consists of six members, from all sections of the WA pork industry. On expiration of tenure the Commission calls for expressions of interest from growers who might be interested in applying for membership on the Committee. Functions: The services that are provided by the Committee cover service functions listed (a) to (m) in Section 12.1 of the APC Act. Committee Activity: The Committee funds such initiatives as: the West Australian Pork Producers’ Association (WAPPA), Pork CRC and various other research projects and industry training. Fee for Service: With the repeal of the Pig Industry Compensation Act 1942 on 31 January 2005 the levy collected from pork producers under that Act ceased.
