| Steve currently farms in Mt Madden with his wife and daughter and son-in-law where they run “Ronland’ , cropping 4700Ha in 2010.
His roles in the industry have covered the entire food chain from germ plasm to end product, technical development and extension and with supply chain management and agribusiness marketing .which when combined with his experience as a farmer in Mt Madden, provide him with the capacity to contribute in a unique and important way to the West Australian horticultural area. Steve is currently involved with the grain/food industry through roles on the South East Premium Wheatgrowers Association (SEPWA), Grain Industry Association of WA (GIWA) and the GIWA Barley Council. His experience with the grain industry at Board and Executive level, is broad ranging. He is an enthusiastic and practical person, passionate about agriculture, and holds a vision that agriculture can offer an increasingly substantial benefit to the WA and Australian community. Steve's appointment to the Commisison is from 19 July 2011 to 9 July 2014. |
