Commissioners

The Commission is made up of four Commissioners, appointed by the Minister for Agriculture. One person is appointed by the Minister as Chairman. Appointments are for a period not exceeding three years, but on expiry of tenure the incumbent can apply for a further term. Vacancies are advertised in relevant newspapers prior to expiry of current terms.

Since the Commission was first established in September 1989, the Commission has had three Chairmen:

Harry Morgan AM – Harry was Chairman from September 1989 to January 2007 when he retired.

Peter Wells – Peter was Chairman from January 2007 to January 2010 when his term of office expired.

William Ryan -  the current Chairman was appointed in January 2010.

Over the years the Commission has seen many members – Clive Stevens, Brian Stynes, John Nicholls, John Allen, John Gallagher, Rob Delane, Eric Skipworth, Ken Boughton, Roger O’Dwyer, Ray Moir and Yvonne Fahl.
